Hello, I had the same problem after installing Thunderbird 2.0 (from 1.5). I am running Ubuntu 7.04. But I went into my home folder, selected "view all hidden files" and found two Thunderbird folders (mozilla-.thunderbird & .thunderbird). After deleting the "mozilla-.thunderbird" folder the problem has not reacurred (Yet).
