hello
i am the owner of a dell laptop with i945
lspci =>
"00:02.0 VGA compatible controller: Intel Corporation Mobile 945GM/GMS/940GML
Express Integrated Graphics Controller (rev 03)"
my screen is 1440x900
my OS is GNU/linux ubuntu 7.10 Gusty
My problem : displayconfig-gtk seems not to setup a correct xorg.conf
How i get a problem :
0. working system
1. open dsplayconfig-gtk
2. valid with no change
3. disconnect and restart gdm (with /etc/init.d/gdm/restart)
4. the blue screen
so i put my xorg.conf instead of the displayconfig-gtk one and it works
How i analyse the problem :
the "monitor" section and the "screen" section do not refer to the 1440x900
resolution for my screen, althgough displayconfig-gtk proposed me that
resolution
I can give you more informations if needed
