Public bug reported:
On a dell Inspiron 1420 with the nvidia 8400M GS, when installing the
binary nvidia drivers my system display stopped working. I was able to
boot into the recovery kernel though. I did a reinstall downloaded the
NVIDIA-Linux-x86_64-100.14.09-pkg2.run file off of nvidia's site,
downloaded and configured the kernel source, and had the nvidia software
build the driver. This worked out well.
