Today I had again a total freeze (kernel 3.8.3). And this time, I have observed the system in more detail. When the system freezes I have not chance to do any keyboard input or a remote connect/ping/ssh. After 10 minutes the system reboots. And 10 minutes is exactly my current setting to dim the screen to save power and for going in standby mode in case when no power is plugged in. But in all cases when the system freezes the power is plugged in.
I hope this is a valuable clue. When the system is able to reboot can you write a script or something to collect data?
