I have the same problem with one of my machines. Both are running 12.04. As soon as I updated to kernel 3.2.0-39 and rebooted, the system became unstable as soon as the desktop appears... lots of errors start popping up, screen blinks and/or turns black, etc...
Went back to kernel 3.2.0-38 and it's fine again. I also tried to go to the 3.5 kernel for precise pangolin, and got the same problem. Machine with the problem: ASUS P8H67-I + i5 2500T + 8 GB RAM (only integrated graphics) I also have a dell laptop with kernel 3.2.0-39 without any problems. This laptop has a core2duo, 4GB of RAM (only integrated graphics). It's a dell d630.
