I did some research and found that this problem wasn't as dangerous as I thought it was. Well, I at least figured out that I could try some things without bricking the laptop. I followed the instructions under some forum posts with similar troubles, but couldn't get that installation to work on a reboot. I was able to boot to the live CD, where I just chose to totally reinstall again. That installation completed without a problem.
Not sure what happened on this bug report. Sorry if it is not useful, but the software prompted me to submit it. And at the time, I was afraid it had to do with other recent boot problems on Saumsung hardware. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1159052 Title: Unable to install bootloader To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/grub-installer/+bug/1159052/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
