Seems to be jabref32.xpm still.

To be honnest, I believe that this bug also concerns the way Unity
renders icons. This all comes to the observation that, in Gnome-Shell,
this icon looks the right size, although a bit on the blurry side
probably because of the re-scaling involved. Same thing happens with
numerous other apps, like unetbootin for instance.

So, I am not sure patching the original debian package to use a bigger
icon will really solve the root of the problem though. At best, this
specific icon will look bigger on Unity and less blurry in Gnome-Shell.
IMO, Unity should be able to figure out by itself the best way to resize
an icon in order to make it look good in the launcher.
