People, I figured it out by switching the video card; I found this was happening due to my faulty Radeon X600 card. I switched the card with Radeon HD3450, and my system never crash & reboot anymore.
This was hard to catch because the video card never caused any problems in Windows. My advice to people who may suspect above issues: try command: $lspci | grep VGA If it does not properly render the video card information in a line or two and keep making drm messages, you would consider changing a video card. Finally this is resolved by myself, yay! -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1130268 Title: re: Ubuntu 12.10 crash & reboot To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/linux/+bug/1130268/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
