The process (since Feisty has been released) would be to first get the update into the current development version of Ubuntu (Gutsy) and then request a backport to Feisty. Since 0.34 is not in Debian yet (I checked), the options are to either wait for Debian and sync from Debian or for somone to package the new version for Ubuntu.
