Public bug reported:
Hi,
I'm testing the new beta release (tribe 3) of ubuntu 7.10 . It's all perfect!
But after the first log-in in gdm the screen remains oroange (ubuntu like
color) filled and I can see only the mouse pointer. I can move it and I notice
pc activity if I can to do something with mouse, so I think the problem is only
in the X server. I found that if I restart gdm (sudo killall gdm etc...) all go
in the right way and gnome starts and I can use normally my system!
I'm sorry if this is not a bug, but it's frustrating....
I've passed to linux only recently, so I'm not an expert of this architecture.
Tell me if you need other specific information or attachments.
Best regards
