I'm no expert in pam/kwallet but this bug is not related to your
request.

The password in kwallet is used to protect the sensitive data that are stored 
inside the wallet.
The request in this bug is: "if I used the same password for kwallet and the 
user login, why not copy this password from the login and use it to try to open 
kwallet?"

The autologin does not store your password and use it to login normally.
It just "su" to your user and runs KDE. So, If you use autologin, the
system does not know your the password. If kwallet is protected, it need
its password in order to read its data.

If security does not concern you, you need to use kwallet without a
password. However, be warned that anyone with access to your filesystem
would easily read all your passwords stored in kwallet.
