Here's an easy way to see this bug: Log in as guest account, go to compizconfig, go to preferences, unity, click "Reset to Defaults". Notice instead of resetting defaults, it disabled even the base Unity plugin!
This is a serious problem, right now I'm wondering if the problem s I'm having in the Unity prerelease are bugs or are misconfigured plugins because I reset it and didn't re-enable something.
