Yes, this is a Linux Terminal Server, so it has the full edubuntu-
desktop metapackage installed. This includes the edubuntu plymouth
splash. I saw no reason to remove it.

Please see the bug description at the top of this page. There's no message from 
mountall, but the lines
 * Starting Block the mounting event for NFS filesytems until statd is running 
[ OK ]
 * Stopping Block the mounting event for NFS filesytems until statd is running 
[ OK ]
keep repeating.
