Is it possible that a different version of Ubuntu, different distro, or
different kernel may affect this bug? I notice that previous versions of
Ubuntu don't have any documented bugs regarding suspend as indicated by
Ubuntu's list of certified hardware:

I apologize for my ignorance; suspend is important to me so I'm keen on
finding a workaround in whatever way possible.
