Anyway, I left the system for a few hours and when I returned the screen was blank. Pressing the shift key woke the system up, but the update manager windows were blank. I used the applications, system, log out menu to restart the system. I got the screenprints by running via Remote Desktop Viewer from a U10.04 system. Mythbuntu left screen capture out of their install, pity. I searched the regular Ubuntu forums and found others were having problems with Update Manager. I had a similar problem in late 2012 with another update manager run. I have been out of town for about 3 months. This morning, I used the command line to run apt-get update; apt-get upgrade; apt-get dist-upgrade as was advised on the regular forum. There were several updates and no problems noted.
