Public bug reported:
Well, it was a long day.
After adding the ppa for gnome 3.8, Software Updater stopped in the middle of
the job (linux kernel 3.8.0.25?), which I finished manually.
Then I could have no other wallpaper, but white, no matter what.
So far, Unity was functioning more or less better than gnome.
Then I changed my theme to MediteraneanDark something.
All of a sudden I could have my dark wallpeper allright, but... I had no Unity
desktop any more.
Every manu choice stayed on the desktop ontop of the other, the Unity bar was
unreadable, a blur of colours, and when I tried to take a snapshot, everything
froze (twice)!
I had to turn the system off the hard way.
Open to suggestions guys!
