I had the same problem with a WPA2 network on gutsy today. My terminal didn't exactly look like yours.
My router was configured with SSID broadcast disabled. Gutsy seemed to be not capable to connect to the network. When typing iwlist scan , my eth3 card showed two networks, a network without SSID and a network with the real SSID name. Gutsy seemed not to know that these two networks were the same..
