Public bug reported:
I am running Ubuntu 12.10 on a Dell XPS One 27.
This machine primarily uses an Intel graphics adapter, although it also
features an Nvidia GT640M chip in order to accelerate certain demanding
applications.
I am unable to control the brightness of the 27" display. Booting the
kernel with acpi_backlight=vendor does not fix the brightness control
issue. "echo 2400 | sudo tee
/sys/class/backlight/intel_backlight/brightness" also has no effect on
the brightness.
Output of lsb_release -rd:
Description: Ubuntu 12.10
Release: 12.10
** Affects: ubuntu
Importance: Undecided
Status: New
