I used synaptic to install gnome I think, because I didn't know the actual name of it (I kept trying gdm, gnome-desktop, etc), but I used the commandline to uninstall. apt-get uninstall gnome.
I looked through synaptic and searched "login" and did ubuntu-bug login for the unable to log in error. I'll file a report in "gnome" too. It's sure to belong somewhere. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1162692 Title: Failed removal of gnome desktop environment - plymouth error To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/plymouth/+bug/1162692/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
