This bug is different to bug 1162732. I have found out that though one cannot resume from suspend by pressing a key or moving the mouse but one can resume by closing the lid of the laptop and opening it again. So here the bug is not that the computer crashes during the suspend/resume cycle but the resume via keyboard or mouse does not work. It works only via the laptop lid.
