Gunnar,
I have the exact same problem as Rob, and my home directory contains the
~/.profile file. Here is the content of /etc/default/locale:
LANG="pt_BR.UTF-8"
LANGUAGE="pt_BR:en_US:en"
LC_NUMERIC="pt_BR.UTF-8"
LC_TIME="pt_BR.UTF-8"
LC_MONETARY="pt_BR.UTF-8"
LC_PAPER="pt_BR.UTF-8"
LC_IDENTIFICATION="pt_BR.UTF-8"
LC_NAME="pt_BR.UTF-8"
LC_ADDRESS="pt_BR.UTF-8"
LC_TELEPHONE="pt_BR.UTF-8"
LC_MEASUREMENT="pt_BR.UTF-8"
Seems to be correctly configured, but the interface appears in English. It was
OK until a recent package update.
