So now I tried to install the Xorg driver via Sources, then I did apt-get install --reinstall xserver-xorg-video-ati. This time, the login screen won't even work (see attachments). I had to connect an external screen in order to see something. The external screen is "too large" on its bottom. Note that my version is 1:6.99.99~git20120913.8637f772-0ubuntu1, just like the one out-of-the-box. However, it does work out-of-the-box and it does not work with the updates installed. Please help me out.
