A head-scratcher; I don't see "eth2" in any of the logs. One thing I
noticed from code inspection that may or may not be relevant:

ACTION=="add", SUBSYSTEM=="net", KERNEL=="eth*|ath*|wlan*|ra*|sta*" \
        NAME!="?*", DRIVERS=="?*", GOTO="persistent_net_generator_do"

Shouldn't there be a comma after the KERNEL=="..." bit?
