My setup: AMD64 Athlon Kubuntu 7.04 x64 Internal HDD: primary master: 320 GB -> only data secondary master: 160 GB -> Windows XP x64 external USB HDD: 160GB -> installing Kubuntu and GRUB onto this one. someone already described this bug here: please read the last post 'problem solved' http://www.linuxforums.org/forum/debian-linux- help/54820-cant-boot-kubuntu-after-installation.html Have exactly the same issue. Grub requires the booting disc to be referenced as hd0.
