@3vi1 - Reading the comments, I understand that this feature request was designed specifically to deliberately break applications that do not adhere to the standards that Canonical has adopted.
It is a pity, but we're unfortunately stuck with it. If you have applications that break (you can test it in 13.04 already), you need to write requests to the developers in question; for example, X-Chat, TrueCrypt and yad (I have already written to the latter two, but received no response as yet).
