Public bug reported:
The system has Gnome desktop installed as well.
Creating a new user besides the one created during system installation does not
offer access to the Gnome desktop, only Unity.
Gnome presents the default wallpaper, and thats all. No icons, no menus,
nothing. Just the desktop.
Same user gets an "Invalid UTF-8" instead of his name at the top panel.
