@Adrian and Marco- I have prepared a test kernel which should restore the backlight behavior on the XPS13-FHD. Please install this kernel and report your results.
To install: Download the two "linux*.deb" files at http://people.canonical.com/~kamal/lp1169376/ then, in a terminal window, change to the directory where you saved them, and install them together by issuing the command 'sudo dpkg -i linux*.deb'.
