The touchpad is not even detected when I do
$ xinput list
The trackpad is not even listed. I get the following output:-

The Microsoft Basic Optical mouse is an external USB mouse that I am
using. It has nothing to do with the trackpad.
BIOS version 1.05 found out using the following command:-
