The solution in #10 worked for a while ... and then stopped working. It worked in 3.5.0-17-generic, but when I updated to 3.5.0-27-generic (with sudo apt-get dist-upgrade), it stopped working - even when I reinstalled rts-bpp-dkms_1.1_all.deb and rebooted it still didn't work.
I then rebooted into 3.5.0-17-generic, reinstalled rts-bpp- dkms_1.1_all.deb and now it works - in 3.5.0-17-generic AND when I boot into 3.5.0-27-generic So if it doesn't work for you, try rebooting into an old version of the kernel, reinstall rts-bpp-dkms_1.1_all.deb, and then reboot into your updated kernel.
