I hvae also encoutered this bug when I tried to install Chinese Language
Support in Ubuntu 12.04. The error message is "Software database is
broken. It is impossible to remove any software. Please use Synaptics or
run"sudo apt-get install -f" to fix this problem at first". But "sudo
apt-get install -f"dose not work and Synaptics does not detect any
broken software...
