Public bug reported: Update mgr. starts checking for updates. A second smaller window opens and message reads: Your ubuntu release is no longer supported. I can click on upgrade information, which takes me to: Ubuntu.com Release end of life page, to go to download pages. (Not Sure What To Download, So Many Download Choices)
Or I can close it and click again, check updates. The cache starts updating, the second window pops up again, then a third small window opens over the second small window, and message reads: Failed to download repository information Check your Internet connection. When I click on details the message reads: W:Failed to fetch http://extras.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/dists/natty/main/source/Sources 404 Not Found [IP: 2001:67c:1360:8001::10 80] , W:Failed to fetch http://extras.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/dists/natty/main/binary-i386/Packages 404 Not Found [IP: 2001:67c:1360:8001::10 80] , E:Some index files failed to download. They have been ignored, or old ones used instead. If I choose the choose the 11.10 upgrade tab at the top, I can download, but when nearing the end, and the files are being uploaded, my computer is stops on a black screen with a list of files, then the files stop loading and the cursor is flashing. I cannot type anything at all. I have to shut my pc down manually. Then I have to start all over again with the the 11.04 disc, erasing everything and starting over again. Thank you for your help.
