Public bug reported:
Hi,
the last upgrade brought me the new upstart joy.
Unfortunately the rcS and rc2 scripts did run but did not do anything.
So my system was effectively rendered unusable because the file systems
were mounted ro, so sudo would not work...
After rebooting with rw instead of ro and manually reinstalling the
initscripts package all is well again.
At least part of the problem was that /etc/default/rcS did not exist.
** Affects: upstart (Ubuntu)
