Public bug reported: Binary package hint: lame
Tested on ubuntu feisty Lame 3.96.1-2ubuntu. Lame always treats its id3 arguments as if they were Latin1. This is not the case in Ubuntu since it uses a UTF-8 locale. So lame should use iconv to convert them from the locale charset to whatever encoding is used inside the id3 tags. The lame CVS contains two patches do that for UTF-8 locale. These changes have not been merged into the stable versions yet. http://sourceforge.net/tracker/index.php?func=detail&aid=1192706&group_id=290&atid=300290 Won't work for other encodings, but that would be a progress. - L. ** Affects: lame (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- lame mishandles non-ascii chars in id3 tags https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/128442 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is the bug contact for Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
