If it is helpful to say so, in my experience Firefox never fully
minimizes. I could not reproduce this with any other programs.
Additionally I experienced this while using the LiveCD (or LiveDVD if
you prefer), with the following information.
ubuntu@ubuntu:~$ apt-cache policy unity
