I have the same issue as all previous posters. Attempting to install BackTrack5r3 onto a Dell E6410 with Intel Graphics (Model pp27LA) When attempting to "startx" on a Live USB BT5r3 the monitor goes completely blank. Kernel panics indicated by consistent flashing blue battery and wifi icons.
I have researched online for the past 3-4 hours and read through the 220 previous comments. I am fairly new to troubleshooting linux/ubuntu. So is there a solution to help me with this installation? I just figured out that I can go into the YUMI liveUSB bootloader and press tab to edit the boot lines for backtrack I just need to add, "nomodeset" to the end of the line after init.?? Any help very very appreciated! -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/561802 Title: [i915] blank screen on Latitude E6410 (NOT E6510) To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/linux/+bug/561802/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
