By the way, this was on a recently booted system with very few packages
installed after installation.  Personal files are on a separate disk, not
mounted as /home.

LibreOffice has failed liked this since 12.10. I can open from launch bar
and create small files, but opening existing files most often causes system
failure.  I have to resort to Windows to work on business files.  :-(
