Same problems here.  HP m6-1225dx with ralink rt5390 installed.

I tried using kernel 3.9.  Still the same problems.  Also:  The wifi
disable/enable button does not work.

The only way I can get it to work reliably is to use the 3.5 kernel that
came with ubuntu 12.10.  It works fine with this kernel, and so does the
wifi disable/enable button.  Weird.  Aren't new kernels supposed to
improve, not degrade existing functionality?
