Public bug reported: I just installed Ubuntu 13.04 through the Alternate CD. The installation finished without no problems nor warnings. The problem is that the login screen (lightdm) is showing horizontal black lines and also shows a huge amount of the screen colored with black and sometimes with lime green, the mouse pointer is not visible and when it's moved more lines appear on the screen.
When plymouth animation is running the screen resolution is set to 1024x768 and there's no problems, but when the login screen appears the resolution changes to 1280x960. And is impossible to login through lightdm. I've set the auto-login via tty and restarted, but the black lines, the black colored part of the screen and the mouse pointer issue remain. Also, when I'm logged in I tried to change the resolution to 1024x768 via xrandr on a terminal emulator, the resolution changes but the problems persist. Because of this issues the desktop is totally unusable. 2 years ago I installed Lubuntu 11.04 on the same computer and it weren't no problems with it.
