I've never been able to get nouveau to run with my 8400GS, using the
newest daily build of ubuntu maverick during boot from USB the slash
screen looks good in the proper resolution the loading gdm it freezes
with a garbled screen with what looks like what was saved in the video
ram, my normal background all spliced up with random screens and web
pages. I was able to switch to a virtual console and copied the log
files to the USB stick. SysRq-REISUB worked.

Current Operating System: Linux ubuntu 2.6.35-22-generic #33-Ubuntu SMP Sun Sep
19 20:32:27 UTC 2010 x86_64
X.Org X Server 1.9.0

After thinking about it I'm bumping this to critical, this is a show
stopper for anyone with the same hardware configuration as it happens in
all previous fedora live cds as well. Anyone booting to a garbled screen
for the first time trying Linux isn't going to be a fan. I'm trying the
newest fedora release soon.
