I have this problem in my Lenovo Ideapad U300s too. Currently running Kubuntu 13.04 but also tested on Ubuntu 13.04. Webcam is not detected at all. I think this bug is a duplicate of this: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/1163268 Let me know if i can do something to help to fix the problem.
