workaround: download http://wireless.kernel.org/en/users/Drivers/iwlegacy?action=AttachFile&do=get&target=iwlwifi-3945-ucode-15.32.2.9.tgz untar, move iwlwifi-3945-2.ucode to /lib/firmware
