Hi Alexander. Before things got out of synch (Dapper AFAIK) it was working correctly for me on few different machines.

The trouble is that it is compatible with Wireless Extensions up to v 21, but Ubuntu devs are updating continuously, so now we have WE v 22. The only way to bring things in synch is to stop updating Wireless Extensions and to keep v 21, as it is the latest version supported by Wireless Tools.
