Public bug reported:
The brightness keys (FN+F8 or F9) cause the transparent brightness icon
to appear in the top left of the screen and the indicator moves up or
down, but only one notch.
The brightness can be adjusted from the slider accessed through
Settings.
The same behaviour occurs from the default install of 13.04, and remains
identical after upgrading the kernel to 3.9.0
