While the problem started with ubuntu 6.08 running Beryl (some time
after i successfully installed Beryl).
Since then, I have attempted to upgrade to Feisty (7.04). The core
distribution upgrade seemed to have completed successfully, although the
packages were not upgraded (due to a problem with my network connection
at the time).
So, currently I am running a distribution which searches for updates in
the feisty repositories, but has dapper packages, which still exhibits
the same problems... I am reduced to using ifconfig.
Hope that's sufficient info for a start.
On a separate note (hope it's allowed), Beryl configurations seem to
have broken elements of my display, such that the standard ubuntu
'endgame' (chess) screensaver does not work at all well. I believe this
stems from AGL / AIGX (hope that's right) configs, but do not know them
well enough to correct it. Any idea what i can do?
