i have the same problem. and i am quite sure this is not a problem caused by
motherboard, or power distributor.
coz i have installed previous dapper, edgy and they all worked fine when it
came to system shutdown, no power-button-press interference.
My guess it might be a bug in kernel or o breakage in Nvidia official driver.
Just guess.
Ubuntu version is 7.04, motherboard 845PE, too old? VGA: MSI fx5200, (rubbish,
even no fan on it)
any one has solved this problem?.
