Not simple as you imaged, in fact, the fix for 2.20 shouldn't have caused any regression on 1.60 device3(the fix only excludes 2.20 and above for cypress subdriver, and not change driver behaviour on 2.19 and below), Also looks google only shows you have the problem on 1.60 almost.
