Bernardo, Pardon my venting. You do understand it's not personal -- it's systemic.
I don't agree about who to blame, or about how it looks. There is plenty of room for blame on both sides here. Broadcom has a very bad history, it's true. But they have changed lately to some degree, and the free software communtity has not responded well. And it's not just broadcom. Ubuntu's support even for open standards has been suffering for the past several releases. Maybe god knows who is really to blame, and will punish the evil-doers in the free-software hereafter -- but maybe he isn't really a fan of free software developers. In any case, it does make free software look bad: to the guy sitting next to me with his proprietary system that just works, my struggles with basic networking makes Linux look like a no-go. He does not care whose fault it is. The correct statement should be: let's work together to make the software function! -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1169755 Title: WLAN won't stay connected in 13.04 raring To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/1169755/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
