I can confirm this bug.

Expected behaviour:
When logged in, do ctrl+alt+backspace to re-start x-server. When GDM loads,
mouse pointer should be visible.

Actual behaviour
When logged in, do ctrl+alt+backspace to re-start x-server. When GDM loads,
mouse pointer is invisible, but all controls respond to mouse over / mouse
clicks.

xorg.conf Xorg.0.log and output of lshw attached. Using Ubuntu Gutsy
tribe 3 with Nvidia 6100 based chipset.

There is no difference (using diff) in Xorg.0.log when Xserver starts
without pointer to when it starts with a pointer, except for the time
field on line 14.
