I get the same problem. Random mouse lock ups, the keyboard satys responsive. Not every day, but enough to be annoying. Loging out doesn't help, neither does killing off Lightdm and restarting it. Only fix I have found so far is a reboot.
I use a USB keyboard with an adaptor to the PS/2 port.
