Update: I found a link the describes how to install the 3.9 kernel
(http://linuxg.net/how-to-install-3-9-kernel-on-ubuntu-13-04-12-10-12-04
-and-linux-mint-15-14-13/). However, the suspend and hibernate behavior
has not changed. Suspend and hibernate still fail to engage. My current
kernel version is 3.9.0-030900-generic. Wojciech, please post the source
of the 3.9 kernel that you have found to solve the problem. Thanks.
